The short version: StrataLink is free to download and use on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and there are no in-app purchases. Where a building runs StrataLink, its body corporate takes out a subscription that is arranged and billed separately on the web — not through the app stores. Use the app as a member of a body corporate community, and it stays the property of Butterfly Bombarby.
StrataLink is operated by Butterfly Bombarby ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the StrataLink app or website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — if you don't agree, please don't use StrataLink.
StrataLink is free to download and use on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. It is run by body corporate committees to keep lot owners informed, so it is used by committee members and by the owners, residents and other members of a body corporate community. There are no in-app purchases, and no prices are shown or charged inside the app.
StrataLink is offered as a subscription to a body corporate (the organisation of all lot owners), not to individual users. Each subscription covers one building and is taken out and paid for by that building's body corporate — usually through its committee, from the administrative fund.
These subscriptions are arranged and billed on the web through our payment provider, Stripe — not through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and not as an in-app purchase. Downloading and using the app stays free for everyone. A body corporate's subscription only affects a committee's ability to publish new content; it never takes away a lot owner's ability to read what has already been shared with them.
StrataLink is for members of a body corporate community, used for that community's purposes. Access is controlled by your committee: they decide who joins your building and what each member can see. When you use StrataLink you agree to:
You are responsible for the content you post. Committees are responsible for managing their building's membership and the information they choose to share with their owners.
StrataLink — including its software, design, content and imagery — is the property of Butterfly Bombarby and is protected by copyright. Using the app doesn't transfer any of those rights to you. The information your committee and members add to your building stays yours; you simply give us permission to store and display it so we can run the service for you.
StrataLink is a communication tool. It is not a strata manager, and it doesn't provide legal, financial or professional advice — it doesn't replace your body corporate's official records or its strata or building manager. Decisions about your body corporate remain the committee's and owners' own.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Butterfly Bombarby is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, StrataLink. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute relating to StrataLink will be handled by the courts of Queensland.
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version will always be posted at this address, and continuing to use StrataLink means you accept the update. Questions? Contact us.
